Indian nationals with valid visas or residence permits from six more countries can now get a visa on arrival in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This update takes effect from February 13, 2025.
Earlier, this facility was available only to those with visas from the US, UK, and European Union countries. Now, Indian passport holders with valid visas or residency from Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, and Canada can also avail of it.
The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) announced this expansion to boost travel and business ties between India and the UAE.
Visa Details & Fees
Passports must be valid for at least six months.
The 14-day visa costs Dh100 and can be extended for another 14 days for Dh250.
A 60-day visa is also available for Dh250.
Why It Matters
This initiative makes travel easier for Indian citizens and their families, opening up new job, residency, and tourism opportunities in the UAE. The move also helps attract skilled professionals and entrepreneurs, strengthening the UAE’s position as a global hub for business and tourism.
Additionally, India and the UAE have a visa exemption agreement for diplomatic and official passport holders, allowing them to stay visa-free for up to 90 days.
This decision highlights the strong ties between India and the UAE and is expected to boost economic and professional exchanges between the two nations.
